Forward Deployed Engineer
We build AI-native systems that do real work inside real enterprises, with safeguards that hold up in production. As a Forward Deployed Engineer you sit between our platform and our customers' messy reality: their cloud, their data, their compliance rules, their legacy stack. You own deployments end to end, from first scoping call to the system running in production with your name on the pager. This is founding-team work with direct customer exposure, fast ramp-up, and a short line to the founder.
What You'll Do
- Own deployments end to end with growing autonomy. Scope the real problem, design the system, write the code, and take it to production adoption.
- Run the pre-sales technical conversation alongside the founder, then write the SOW you will personally deliver against.
- Build production-grade AI systems with guardrails, audit trails, and deterministic fallbacks, backed by per-customer eval suites that gate every release.
- Integrate our platform into customer environments across Kubernetes, public cloud, and existing enterprise infrastructure. Build the custom connectors and MCP action layers that let our agents act inside customer tooling, and design the memory and context layer behind them with access control enforced at query time.
- Carry on-call for what you ship. Stand up the observability stack for each deployment, covering traces, cost, latency, and quality in one place, and own failure modes and incident response.
- Turn repeated field patterns into reusable product, and bring customer reality back into our core roadmap.
- Wear multiple hats across Platform, SRE, Core, and Security work alongside FDE duties, with the flexibility to drop into whichever area is blocking a customer or the team.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years shipping production software, with some customer-facing or delivery experience and a clear appetite for more.
- Strong coding ability in Python and/or Go, plus enough TypeScript to build a usable interface.
- Production experience building agentic systems using LangChain or equivalent frameworks, including tool calling, retrieval, evaluation, and guardrails.
- Hands-on experience running production workloads on at least one cloud or on-prem provider, which may include AWS, GCP, Azure, or bare-metal providers such as Hetzner, OVH, and similar.
- Sound judgment around security, compliance, and blast radius, with the discipline to keep deterministic software in the loop where it counts.
- Comfort with ambiguity, on-call rotations, and customer travel, with a bias for shipping over specifying.
- Excitement to work on-site in Goa with a small, high-talent, high-ownership team.
Nice to Have
- Practical depth in Kubernetes, including IaC, CI/CD, and running services you are responsible for.
